In her last state of the university address, Renu Khator said she wanted to bring at least one federally funded research center to the University of Houston. A year later, Khator touted three such centers that have come to UH in the last year alone. The three centers - which focus on sub-sea engineering, superconductor research and immigration and border security - are yet another sign of the continued progress at the university.
