2019 COE Summit

The 2019 COE Summit included a student grand challenge and a poster competition.

Keshav Kasichainula

Keshav Kasichainula, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Houston, conducts research with Dr. Larry Shi on the project "Transforming Trade and Ensuring Global Supply Chain Security with Blockchain and Smart Contracts." Mr. Kasichainula presented a poster and participated in a grand challenge as part of the 2019 COE Summit. His grand challenge team received first place for their innovative approach to managing Unmanned Aerial Systems, "Automated Drone Integrated Information System."

Ha Le

Ha Le, a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of Houston, conducts research with Dr. Ioannis Kakadiaris under the project "EDGE: The 'Eye in the Woods' Image-based Face Detection and Recognition System." Mr. Le participated in the 2019 COE Summit student poster competition and grand challenge. He received first place for his poster and his grand challenge team received second place, "Drone-Based MIR Laser-Induced Thermal Imaging for Identification of Chemical Substances."
